Locating rails are made of low carbon steel, precision ground square
and are available in a number of sizes and lengths to suit most applications.

Mitee-Bite Products makes fixture building easier and quicker with the addition of ready made locating rails.
Mill a slot in the fixture plate to locate the rail and drill and tap the mounting holes.
The height of the rails can be adjusted by the depth of the slot. Steps can be machined on the rails to hold the work piece
above the fixture plate or a radius can be machined to match the contour on machinable clamps for irregular shape parts.

The "Mini-Rail" is a new addition to the locating rail family. The smaller
size will allow more parts per fixture and greater tooling access on larger parts. Designed to be used in a milled slot for consistent repeatability when high forces are applied.

- Mill a slot to locate the rail. Depth of slot will determine rail height.
- Drill and tap the required holes to mount the rail.
- For better rigidity, the rail should be pinned to the fixuture plate with dowel pins.
- If rails are to be machined to hold round pieces, the clampes should be mounted and both rail and clamp machined at the same time.
